What is the difficulty level of your hikes?
We offer a variety of hikes, from easier routes suited for all skill levels to more challenging treks in the high mountains. Our more demanding hikes will test your endurance and skills, but we also have options perfect for beginners and those looking for a more relaxed adventure. Whatever your experience level, we’ll help you find the right challenge. If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to reach out!
Alpine Terrain Classification Scale
T1 - Easy Hiking: Clear, wide, and continuously visible path. No danger of falling when exercising normal caution.
T2 - Mountain Hiking: Continuous trail that may be steep or narrow in places. Some risk of falling cannot be excluded. Basic sure-footedness and orientation skills are advantageous.
T3 - Demanding Mountain Hiking: Trail includes exposed sections that may be secured with chains. Path not always visible. Good sure-footedness required.
T4 - Alpine Hiking: Trail traverses challenging, steep terrain including: Steep grassy slopes, scree fields, basic snowfields, simple glacier passages. Often pathless with exposed sections and clear falling hazards.
T5 - Demanding Alpine Hiking: Route crosses demanding, steep terrain including: Very steep grassy slopes, rocky outcrops, steep snowfields, glacier passages. Typically pathless with consistent exposure and falling hazards over long stretches.
T6 - Very Demanding Alpine Hiking: Route traverses extremely challenging terrain including: Exceptionally steep slopes, steep snowfields, complex glacier passages. Almost entirely pathless with severe exposure and significant falling hazards over extended distances.
Whats the maximum group size
We keep group sizes small for a personalised experience—6-12 people is a normal size group for our tours
What should I bring?
We’ll provide you with a full list of recommended gear before your hike. For most of the tours you will need suitable clothing, walking shoes and a back pack.
What’s included in the tour?
Airport pickup and drop-off: This depends on the tour. Remote location adventures often included airport pick up. Popular destinations such, Chamonix, work better with self transfer to allow for guest flexibility
Accommodation: All tours usually include 3 star type hotels and mountain refuges. Mountain refuges are a mixture of 2 people shared rooms and traditional bunk bed multiple person rooms.
Meals: Usually all meals are provides throughout the trip however for some tours lunch is not included to allow for more flexibilty for clients
Guiding: All tours are led by qualified International Mountain Leaders (IML).
Insurance: We are insured, but you must secure your own personal travel insurance.
What’s your cancellation policy?
The cancelation policy depends on the specific tour and this is due to the varying cancellation policies of the accommodation in each location. Contcat us to find out the cancellation policy for a specific tour
What if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first. If weather conditions make the hike unsafe, we’ll modify the tour to ensure nobody is at risk.
