The Pyrenees 3 Peaks Challenge is an epic mountain adventure, inspired by the famous UK 3 Peaks Challenge, but set in the dramatic and untouched landscapes of the Spanish Pyrenees.
Over 7 days, you will summit three of the most iconic peaks in the region—Pic de Certascan (2,853m), Pica d’Estats (3,143m), and Besiberri Sud (3,024m)—while trekking through wild alpine valleys, high mountain passes, and glacial lakes. This is a physically demanding challenge, perfect for experienced hikers looking, who enjoy small elements of scrambling, for an unforgettable experience.

Itinerary
Day 1
📍 Arrival in Barcelona – Transfer to the Pyrenees
We’ll pick you up at Barcelona Airport and drive you through the scenic Pallars Sobirà region to the charming mountain town of Sort. After settling into your hotel, you’ll have time to relax and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2
📍 Pic de Certascan (2,853m)
📏 Distance: 12 km | 📈 Ascent: +1,300m | 📉 Descent: -300m | ⏳ Duration: 7 hours
Morning transfer (1.5 hours) to Tavascan, where we begin our trek towards the Estany de Certascan, the largest glacial lake in the Pyrenees. A steady ascent takes us to Pic de Certascan (2,853m), the highest peak in the Catalan Pallars region, offering panoramic views over the Andorran Pyrenees.
We descend to Refugi de Certascan, where we enjoy a well-earned dinner in a spectacular setting.

Day 3
📍 Descent to Tavascan & Relaxation in Sort
Distance: 10 km | 📉 Descent: -1,000m | ⏳ Duration: 4 hours
A gradual descent through alpine meadows leads us back to Tavascan, where we transfer back to Sort (1.5 hours). Afternoon optional activities: Rafting, canyoning, or relaxing in a mountain spa. Evening group dinner in Sort, preparing for the next peak challenge.

Day 4
📍 Hike to Refugi de Prat de Segrer (2,140m)
Distance: 8 km | 📈 Ascent: +600m | ⏳ Duration: 3-4 hours.
Morning transfer to Vall Ferrera (1.5 hours), where we begin our approach to Pica d’Estats. A steady trek through beautiful alpine valleys, crossing rivers and lush meadows, brings us to Refugi de Vallferrera (1,940m), where we prepare for the highest summit of the trip.

Day 5
📍 Pica d’Estats (3,143m) – The Highest Peak in Catalonia
Distance: 16 km | 📈 Ascent: +1,000m | 📉 Descent: -1,000m | ⏳ Duration: 9-10 hours
Early start for our summit attempt of Pica d’Estats, reaching the highest point in Catalonia at 3,143m. We traverse a breathtaking ridge with stunning views over France and Andorra, before descending back to the refuge.

Day 6
📍 Besiberri Sud (3,024m) – A True Alpine Challenge
Distance: 12 km | 📈 Ascent: +1,200m | 📉 Descent: -1,200m | ⏳ Duration: 8 hours
Morning transfer (1.5 hours) to the Besiberri trailhead. We ascend through rugged, rocky terrain, navigating some light scrambling sections to reach the summit of Besiberri Sud (3,024m)—a wild and challenging peak with dramatic Pyrenean views. After a successful final summit, we descend and return to Sort for a celebratory group dinner. 🎉
