Carros de Foc
The Ultimate Pyrenean Challenge with @beck_goes_solo
Carros de Foc, meaning Chariots of Fire, is an iconic trek in the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park — one of the most breathtaking regions in the Pyrenees. This legendary route links mountain refuges, forming a rewarding circuit through rugged peaks, turquoise lakes, and remote alpine landscapes.
First created in 1987, when a group of hut wardens set out to visit each other in a single journey, Carros de Foc has grown into one of Europe’s most celebrated multi-day treks. Along the way, hikers collect stamps from each refuge on the official pass — a tradition that marks the completion of the full circuit.
Across 60 km and 4,000 m of elevation gain, this journey takes you deep into true wilderness. We’ll reach the high point at Coll de Contraix (2,745 m) and also make a summit of Montardo (2,764 m), one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the national park.
Meet Beck
Beck is the creator behind Beck Goes Solo, sharing her journey as a mindful hiker and solo traveller. You might know her from Instagram as @beck_goes_solo, where she inspires others to reconnect with nature and themselves through slow, intentional adventure.
Although she usually heads into the mountains alone, Beck will be joining us in September to guide a special Carros de Foc Challenge — a 60km hut-to-hut trek through the heart of the Spanish Pyrenees. She brings a grounded, thoughtful approach to the trail, along with plenty of encouragement and positive energy.
Expect big views, meaningful moments and a little extra company on the trail this time.
